GOOD SMILE COMPANY of Japan has announced the latest product from its deformed action figure series, 'Nendoroid,' featuring 'Chiikawa' from the super popular manga 'Chiikawa: Something Small and Cute,' scheduled for release in October 2023.
Created by Japanese manga artist Nagano, 'Chiikawa' depicts the stories of the two-head-tall 'Chiikawa creatures' in a cute picture-book style. They earn their living through tasks like weeding and subjugation, experiencing lives that are sometimes joyful, sometimes arduous, and sometimes melancholic. While this fantastical world is presented in a very adorable style, it also contains numerous realistic and dark elements, bringing a unique charm to the work.
The 'Chiikawa' character, released this time, is one of the three main characters, often playing and working alongside Hachiware and Usagi. The Nendoroid series faithfully renders Chiikawa in 3D, based on the original two-head-tall art style. Its limb parts feature magnetic attachment, allowing for a wide range of poses. The facial features not only perfectly reproduce Nagano's brushwork but also incorporate a split-part design for interchangeable expressions, including a 'smiling face,' 'happy smiling face,' and 'crying face.' Coupled with accessories like the 'subjugation rod' for work and a 'small bag' that can be worn, you can recreate Chiikawa's personality, which is a bit timid and shy, yet capable of showing courage in times of crisis!
