The popular posable figure series "S.H.Figuarts", released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectors' toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., today announced the latest product from "Ultraman," the "Alien Baltan Strike the Invader Ver.," slated for release in January 2024.
Alien Baltan is a classic kaiju from the "Ultraman" series, possessing a cicada-like head and giant, lobster-like claws, and capable of using various abilities such as possession, illusions, cloning, shedding its skin, freely changing its size, and firing freezing rays... earning it the moniker "Space Ninja." In the story, their home planet was destroyed by nuclear experiments, turning them into space refugees. They temporarily came to Earth for supplies with 2.03 billion of their brethren and were then deeply attracted to this beautiful planet. However, their concept of "life" differed from that of Earthlings. To migrate to Earth, they were willing to destroy humanity. Ultimately, most of the Alien Baltans were annihilated by the original Ultraman, and the descendants who successfully escaped occasionally return seeking opportunities for revenge.
This "S.H.Figuarts Alien Baltan Strike the Invader Ver." is based on a modified version of the previously released standard edition. It features bright yellow pupils and a recreation of the silver on its face between its eyes. The entire body has been repainted with a new application, making the colors more closely resemble its appearance in its first on-screen debut. For this reason, the product name uses "Strike the Invader," the subtitle of the second episode of "Ultraman," where Alien Baltan first appeared. The accessories also include a new dedicated display stand printed with this subtitle.
