Japanese model manufacturer Kotobukiya, in commemoration of its 70th anniversary, recently announced the latest collaborative product with Tomytec's popular railway model series 'TOMIX First Car Museum': the "Megami Device SOL Hornet CRAFTSMANSHIP Ver. With First Car Museum E235 Series Yamanote Line Megami Device Wrapping Train", slated for release in May 2024. This product will be exclusively sold through official designated channels such as KOTOBUKIYA SHOP.
The star of this product, the "First Car Museum E235 Series Yamanote Line Megami Device Wrapping Train", is based on the Kotobukiya collaboration train that actually ran in June 2022. The train body utilizes the previously well-received "FM-003 E235 Series Yamanote Line" finished model, crafted at a 1/150 scale with a total length of approximately 138mm. This product meticulously details the train's structure, thoroughly reproducing the complex chassis, interior compartments, and driver's cabin. The exterior colors, train number, logo, and the 'Megami Device' series graphics on the sides are all pre-painted, enhancing the realistic texture with outstanding resolution.
Meanwhile, the "Megami Device SOL Hornet CRAFTSMANSHIP Ver." is redesigned based on the train's green and silver color scheme. Her silver hair is pre-painted, and she comes with three pre-printed face parts, a camera, and other accessories, allowing collectors to pose her interacting with the lead car using her highly articulated body. Additionally, Kotobukiya is simultaneously releasing a version that includes only the First Car Museum train without the Megami Device, catering to collectors who wish to acquire only the vehicle.
