To commemorate its 70th anniversary, Japanese model manufacturer Kotobukiya recently announced the latest collaborative product with Tomytec's popular railway model series, "TOMIX First Car Museum": the "Sousai Shojo Teien Madoka Yuki [Uguisu Winter Uniform Ver.] With First Car Museum E235 Series Yamanote Line Sousai Shojo Teien Wrapping Train," slated for release in April 2024. This product will be exclusively sold through KOTOBUKIYA SHOP and other official designated channels.
The star of this product, the "First Car Museum E235 Series Yamanote Line Sousai Shojo Teien Wrapping Train," is based on the actual Kotobukiya collaboration train that operated in June 2022. The vehicle body utilizes the highly acclaimed "FM-003 E235 Series Yamanote Line" pre-assembled model, crafted at a 1/150 scale with an overall length of approximately 138mm. This product meticulously recreates the vehicle's structure, thoroughly reproducing the complex chassis, car interior, and driver's cab. The exterior colors, car number, logo, and the "Sousai Shojo Teien" series graphics on the side are all pre-painted, enhancing the realistic texture with fine resolution.
Meanwhile, the main figure, "Sousai Shojo Teien Madoka Yuki [Uguisu Winter Uniform Ver.]," features an outfit color scheme adjusted to a green-toned uguisu (bush warbler green) to match the train. The molded color of the hair parts has also been changed from the original dark brown to black to a lighter brown. It includes three hairstyles, three skirt types, and one pre-printed smiling face for interchangeability, while three other expressions can be created using the included water decals. Other accessories, such as a mobile phone, school bag, and display stand, are identical to the regular version. Furthermore, Kotobukiya is also simultaneously releasing a version that includes only the First Car Museum train and no figure, catering to collectors who solely wish to acquire the vehicle.
