"VA Hi-SPEC Super Dimension Century Orguss" Re-released After Nearly a Decade, Featuring New Articulated Hands and a Newly Designed Display Stand!

To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the classic robot anime "Super Dimension Century Orguss," Japanese model manufacturer MEGAHOUSE has announced the re-release of the protagonist's mecha, "Orguss," in March 2024. This item, originally launched between 2015 and 2016, is part of their 『VariableAction Hi-SPEC』 series, which utilizes alloy parts to achieve higher-spec sculpting, articulation, and mechanisms for its mechanical-themed action figures.

Orguss was originally the second-generation GERWALK "Bronco II" piloted by the protagonist Kei Katsuragi in 2062 AD. However, during a crisis, Kei Katsuragi activated the unfinished new D-weapon "Space-Time Oscillation Bomb" and was caught in the chaotic Space-Time Century for 20 years. After being repaired by the Emaan people, it became the combat machine "Orguss" with arms, possessing four forms that gradually transform from a fighter jet into a robot: FLYER, GERWALK, TANK, and ORGROID, along with a rich array of armaments.

The main body sculpt of "VA Hi-SPEC Orguss" is essentially the same as the previous version, thoroughly supervised by mechanical designer Kazutaka Miyatake. Standing approximately 18 cm tall, it is made from ABS, alloy parts, and POM materials. It not only faithfully reproduces the refined armor details and lines from the anime and features flexible articulated joint designs, but also allows for complete transformation into its four forms—FLYER, GERWALK, TANK, and ORGROID—without the need for part swapping.

This re-release also adds new fist hand parts with articulated fingers and a newly designed display stand, enriching the product content. These can be combined with the missile gun to recreate cool battle poses.
