Bandai Co., Ltd. recently announced the upcoming release of the latest DX toy product from Kamen Rider BLACK SUN, the "DX Transformation Belt Century King SUN DRIVER," scheduled for February 2024.
The Century King SUN DRIVER is the transformation belt used by the protagonist, Kotaro Minami, when he transforms into Kamen Rider BLACK SUN. It is normally embedded within Kotaro's body and only emerges during transformation. While its appearance seems mechanical, it is actually formed instantaneously from artificial cells called "Variable Cell Elements" that can remember complex mechanical shapes, functioning like an external organ in the form of a belt. Energy generated by the solar reactor within the belt, combined with the life-pulse circuit formed by the King Stone, optimizes the source of life, "Life-Pulse Radiance," unleashing superhuman power.
The overall design of the "DX Transformation Belt Century King SUN DRIVER" inherits the same mold as the previously released CSM version, faithfully recreating the intricate mechanical appearance formed by Variable Cell Elements. However, the toy has been redesigned to be safe for children aged 3 and above, with only the silver parts receiving paint application, while most other components are molded in their base colors. The most distinctive transformation mechanism is also designed for fully manual operation, allowing the various armor parts on the front of the belt to be deployed.
Furthermore, the belt also features rich sound and light effects. Not only does the core unit contain an LED light that emits red light, but pressing the two attack buttons and the transformation button on the top of the belt will play the BLACK SUN transformation sound, the Black Temple Locust Kaijin transformation sound, attack sounds against various enemies, and the sound effect for unleashing the special move "Rider Kick," among others. While the main series content may not be entirely suitable for young children, it still allows kids to experience the joy of transforming into "Kamen Rider BLACK SUN"!
