Aniplex's articulated figure series BUZZmod. (バズモッド) will release its latest product, the "BUZZmod. Himura Kenshin" 1/12 scale articulated figure, based on the anime "Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story"! The suggested retail price is 9,900 JPY, with an estimated release in May 2024.
Himura Kenshin (ひむら けんしん), the protagonist of the manga series "Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story" (るろうに剣心-明治剣客浪漫譚-) created by Japanese manga artist Nobuhiro Watsuki, is modeled after Kawakami Gensai, one of the four great hitokiri of the Bakumatsu period. He is the 14th successor of the "Hiten Mitsurugi-ryū" style. Originally named Shinta Himura, he changed his name to Kenshin after being taken in as a disciple by Hiko Seijuro. During the Bakumatsu period, he was an assassin for the Ishin Shishi, known as "Hitokiri Battōsai" due to his exceptional swordsmanship, ruthless killing, and mastery of battōjutsu. However, he later disappeared and swore an oath never to kill again, drawing his sword only to protect his friends and loved ones...
The "BUZZmod. Himura Kenshin" 1/12 scale articulated figure, standing approximately 14 cm tall, faithfully recreates Kenshin's distinctive red long hair and facial scar. It comes with a total of 4 interchangeable face parts, including a gentle smiling face, a serious face, a battle-cry face, and an adorable dizzy face! Paired with the "Sakabatō" (reverse-blade sword) accessory, it allows for recreating various scenes from daily life to intense battles! His characteristic hakama is made of real fabric, which not only maintains its appearance but also cleverly conceals the knee joints, allowing for even more dynamic posing during play!
