POP UP PARADE "Perfect Blue" Mima Kirigoe Unpainted Prototype Revealed!

Japan's GOOD SMILE COMPANY's affordable pre-painted figure series "POP UP PARADE" will feature animation master Satoshi Kon's classic work "Perfect Blue" as its theme, releasing the "POP UP PARADE Mima Kirigoe" PVC figure! Today, the unpainted prototype was unveiled first.

Master animation director Satoshi Kon's (こん さとし) sensational debut work "Perfect Blue," released in 1997, is adapted from Yoshikazu Takeuchi's novel "Perfect Blue: Complete Metamorphosis." The story, through the female idol Mima Kirigoe, who is transitioning into an actress, highlights the dark side and weighty issues behind Japanese idol culture. It intertwines thrilling assassination cases and explicit rape scenes, causing the bewildered Mima, under various pressures, to gradually lose herself between reality and illusion, step by step heading towards the "death of an idol"...

The "POP UP PARADE Mima Kirigoe" PVC figure, currently only released as an unpainted prototype, brings Mima in her idol costume to life! Inspired by the mysterious smile of "another Mima" in the film just before facing death, it recreates Mima's eerie pose, kneeling with her hand caressing her face. Although the figure is unpainted, one can imagine it will be stained with blood on her face and body... It is highly anticipated!
