Bandai Spirits, a Japanese toy company, recently announced the latest product from its new tokusatsu-themed toy series for adults, 'COMPLETE STYLE GIGANTIC,' the 'Garo Sword' from the tokusatsu series Garo, slated for release in March 2024.
In the series' first work, Garo, the protagonist Kouga Saejima is a Makai Knight who inherits the golden armor, capable of transforming into the Golden Knight Garo, known as the strongest in the series. Through powerful martial arts and purifying abilities, he resolves the 'Inga' (shadows in the human heart) and battles the demonic beasts 'Horrors.' His weapon is the Garo Sword, which features a golden hilt and scabbard. Besides its sharp blade for cutting down enemies, when encountering large Horrors, he can summon the magical horse Gouten for support, transforming the Garo Sword into the even larger 'Garo Zanbaken' to confront them.
The 'COMPLETE STYLE GIGANTIC Garo Sword' is crafted at an impressive length of approximately 100 cm, based on in-show data and personally supervised by director Keita Amemiya. It not only recreates the golden hilt with gold plating but also uses alloy material for the grip to convey a sense of weight. The blade thoroughly reproduces the intricate, irregular patterns, making it incredibly cool to wield.
Furthermore, this Garo Sword is equipped with a rich sound mechanism. By operating the BGM button, dialogue button, and attack button, various sound effects can be played. The BGM button includes five classic theme songs and in-drama background music performed by JAM Project, such as 'Theme of GARO,' 'GARO-MAKAISENKI-with JAM Project,' and 'Garo ~SAVIOR IN THE DARK 2021~.' The attack button features slashing sounds, Gouten summoning, and various enemy combat sound effects. The dialogue button includes numerous famous lines from the protagonist Kouga Saejima (portrayed by Ryosei Konishi), allowing you to personally experience the feeling of being a Makai Knight in battle!
