Kaiyodo, a veteran Japanese toy manufacturer, recently announced the latest product in its "ARTPLA" plastic assembly model series, originating from the works of Japanese sci-fi military guru Kow Yokoyama's Maschinen Krieger (Ma.K): the "KÜSTER Champagne Gold Clear Version" (キュスター シャンパンクリアーVer.) 1/35 scale assembly model! This item will be pre-sold at the venue of the 61st All Japan Model & Hobby Show (全日本模型ホビーショー) before becoming available for purchase on Kaiyodo's online store.
Kow Yokoyama's original SF series "Ma.K" is set in the 29th century, where Earth has been devastated by the Fourth World Nuclear War, practically becoming a dead planet. However, two factions still vie for supremacy over this land: the "Strahl Republic" and the "Earth Independent Government Mercenary Army." The rich array of toys and models derived from the combat armor and vehicles used by both sides has attracted a vast number of sci-fi military enthusiasts.
The KÜSTER is an improved version of the Strahl Army's bipedal reconnaissance combat drone, the KRÖTE, equipped with superior combat AI and enhanced night combat capabilities. This "ARTPLA KÜSTER," rendered as an ABS assembly model, stands at a completed height of 10.5 cm. The prototype was sculpted by Kaiyodo's renowned sculptor "Genius Tanina," faithfully reproducing the charm of Kow Yokoyama's mechanical designs and distinctive stylistic features. The combination with transparent champagne gold, infusing a sense of clarity into heavy machinery, presents a refreshing visual effect, and collectors can utilize the limited-edition water decals to create their own unique appearance.
