Following the Blue Destiny Unit 1, the robot-themed action figure series 'ROBOT魂 ver. A.N.I.M.E.', released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, recently showcased prototypes of its latest additions from 'Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story: THE BLUE DESTINY': 'Blue Destiny Unit 2' and 'Blue Destiny Unit 3'. Release dates are yet to be determined.
The Blue Destiny series mobile suits were developed during the One Year War by the Earth Federation Forces in collaboration with the defected former Zeon researcher, Dr. Krust. They are equipped with the 'EXAM System,' designed to counter Newtypes. Based on the Ground Type Gundam, when the EXAM System activates, the head camera emits a red light. Through the system's hardware and software, it captures the murderous intent in the brainwaves of Oldtype pilots, theoretically granting combat capabilities comparable to Newtypes. However, this system can only be maintained for 5 minutes, not only easily leading to overheating but also potentially causing the system to go berserk due to excessive murderous intent.
The currently revealed 'Blue Destiny Unit 2' and 'Blue Destiny Unit 3' are, as per their design, constructed using identical parts except for their color schemes. Their overall appearance faithfully reproduces the heavy armor design from the original concept art. The movable joints inherit designs from Unit 1, such as the pull-out shoulder joints and movable knee armor. Accessories include a beam rifle, beam saber, shield, beam effect parts, and thruster effect parts, allowing for the recreation of various battle scenes.
