Japanese model maker PLEX's 'Jumbo Soft Vinyl Figure' series today announced the latest product from "Mobile Suit Gundam", "RX-78-2 Gundam (2P Color) -SD Gundam-", scheduled for release in January 2024.
The machine released this time not only renders the "RX-78-2 Gundam", the mobile suit piloted by protagonist Amuro Ray in "Mobile Suit Gundam", in SD proportions, but also features the 2P colors that appeared in the nostalgic Super Famicom game "SD Mobile Suit Gundam V Operation Start". The product is a modification of a previously released standard version, with the entire machine using red, white, and yellow to present a color scheme different from the original, and can recreate the distinctive eye-ball look characteristic of the SD Gundam series using eye stickers.
This product is made using 3D digital modeling, with a height of approximately 23 cm and intricate detailed sculpting. The neck, shoulders, hands, and waist feature simple rotational articulation, allowing it to be posed with weapons such as a beam rifle, beam saber, and shield. The PVC soft vinyl material provides a substantial feel and durability, allowing you to fully enjoy an SD Gundam in a large size, unlike previous products that were less than 10 cm tall!
