To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the "Monster Hunter" game series, CAPCOM Co., Ltd. of Japan, in collaboration with renowned monster sculptors, has specially announced the latest product in the "Monster Hunter" statue series, "CAPCOM FIGURE BUILDER Creator's Model": "Alatreon". The suggested retail price is 33,000 JPY, with an estimated release in March 2024.
First appearing in "Monster Hunter 3", the forbidden monster Alatreon is a symbol of destruction capable of wielding all natural forces and manipulating natural disasters. It is considered the strongest dragon, feared even by gods, bringing ruin to humanity, to the extent that people are unwilling to utter its name. Legend has it that its form changes depending on the observer; all its scales are extremely rare reverse scales, capable of mercilessly tearing apart anything they touch like sharp blades. Its name, "Alatreon" (アルバトリオン), means "Triumph of Dawn", used to praise those who survived natural disasters—many even worship Alatreon as a deity.
"CAPCOM FIGURE BUILDER Creator's Model Alatreon" is sculpted by sculptor Azuma Takayuki, who has uniquely interpreted and delicately rendered Alatreon's body covered in reverse scales. Its powerful pose, with wings spread wide and head tilted skyward, conveys an overwhelming sense of power; the overall paintwork features a bio-organic purplish-black, contrasting sharply with the vibrant, gradient wing membranes. The sharp scale carvings are both exquisite and lifelike, and its fierce gaze emanates a terrifying, ominous aura. The base is modeled after the "Secluded Valley", completing the work's worldview.
