BANDAI SPIRITS Company's HOBBY Division today announced the latest product, "Onmitsu Gundam Aerial," from the new spin-off project "Kira Hagane Monogatari" within the "SD Gundam World Heroes" series of model kits, scheduled for release on February 23, 2024.
The second installment of the spin-off, "SD Gundam World Heroes Kira Hagane Monogatari," with a script by Toshimitsu Takeuchi, is set to be released online as a 5-episode short illustrated story. This time, the stage moves to the Musha World within the SD Gundam World. In addition to the reappearance of previously featured characters like Goku Impulse Gundam and Nobunaga Gundam Epyon, new characters such as 78th Generation Musha Gundam and Onmitsu Gundam Aerial will be added. Notably, Onmitsu Gundam Aerial combines the famous character Onmitsu Gundam from the old "SD Sengokuden" series with the protagonist mobile suit Gundam Aerial from "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury," bringing forth a new generation ninja that fuses old and new elements.
The "SDW HEROES Onmitsu Gundam Aerial" is constructed with multiple molded color parts and color-correcting stickers, meticulously reproducing rich detail on its parts in SD scale. The familiar Permet Score glowing areas from the original "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury" have been redesigned into cool features like a shuriken forehead protector and a flowing scarf. Internally, it features a highly articulated frame structure, allowing for dynamic dual-wielding poses with its movable arms and two blade weapons.
The Kira Hagane parts utilize the "IMD (In-Mold Decoration) molding parts" manufacturing technique, once thought lost, to impress rich and vibrant patterns in red, blue, gold, and other colors onto transparent green injection-molded parts. Furthermore, the product includes special parts that can link with separately sold SDW HEROES products. For example, this golden part resembling a Qilin and the eye mask can be equipped in conjunction with "78th Generation Musha Gundam," and there are Kira Hagane parts that can be equipped by "Tenka Musou Daishogun."
