BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division today announced the latest product, "78th Generation Musha Gundam," from the 'SD Gundam World Heroes' series of model kits, part of the new gaiden project 'Kira Hagane Monogatari,' scheduled for release in February 2024.
The second gaiden installment, 'SD Gundam World Heroes Kira Hagane Monogatari,' with a script by Toshimitsu Takeuchi, is set to be released online as a 5-episode short illustrated story. This time, the stage moves to the Musha World within the SD Gundam World. In addition to returning characters like Wukong Impulse Gundam and Nobunaga Gundam Epyon, new characters such as the 78th Generation Musha Gundam and Stealth Aerial Gundam will also be added. Among them, the 78th Generation Musha Gundam is redesigned based on the RX-78 series Gundam, featuring not only new crimson armor but also a new generation version of "Kira Hagane."
The "78th Generation Musha Gundam" is constructed from multiple molded color parts and color-correcting stickers, reproducing rich armor details on the parts at SD scale. The Kira Hagane parts utilize the once-lost manufacturing technique of "IMD (In-Mold Decoration) molded parts," where rich and colorful patterns in red, blue, and gold are printed onto transparent green injection-molded parts. This new version of Kira Hagane parts is used for the head antenna, shoulder armor, and the blade of the uchigatana. Furthermore, the elbow joints now have a more flexible range of motion, allowing for dynamic drawing sword poses.
Additionally, it can be combined with interlocking parts included with the separately sold "SDW HEROES Stealth Aerial Gundam" to recreate a pose with golden decorations added to the helmet's top and an eye patch covering the right eye.
