Japanese toy brand PLEX's "Jumbo Soft Vinyl Figure" series is set to release its latest product based on Mazinger Z / INFINITY The Movie. This new color version of the soft vinyl Mazinger Z, named "Jumbo Soft Vinyl Figure Mazinger Z (INFINITY) Ver.2", is scheduled for release in December 2023, priced at 41,800 JPY.
Released in 2018, Mazinger Z / INFINITY The Movie (マジンガーZ / INFINITY) is a commemorative work celebrating Go Nagai-sensei's 50th anniversary in the industry. Designed by Takayuki Yanase, the new mechanical design features numerous armor panel lines, giving Mazinger Z a complete refresh. This also includes Great Mazinger, Aphrodite A, and Boss Borot, which also appeared in the film. The story is set 10 years after the TV anime series, where Koji and others begin new lives under new identities, encountering the mysterious Mazin "INFINITY" and facing attacks from familiar foes Baron Ashura, Count Brocken, and Dr. Hell.
Following the original standard color and the golden color versions, this Mazinger Z / INFINITY The Movie Jumbo Soft Vinyl Figure now introduces the Ver.2 recolor, featuring even more vibrant and brilliant colors. The metallic texture on the limbs and other areas is enhanced, and the chest heat plate is rendered with clear parts. With a few simple points of articulation and an imposing height of 60cm, it makes one eager to own it again.
