BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division, Japan, which offers the most diverse range of 1/144 scale Gunpla in the 'HG (High Grade)' series, today announced the latest information on its newest product from the anime 'Gundam Build Metaverse', the "HG 1/144 Amazing Barbatos Lupus [Metallic Color]". This item will be included in the Gunpla bundle limited edition of the latest single "Days of Birth" (the ending theme for 'Gundam Build Metaverse') by LINKL PLANET, Bandai's idol group and official plastic model ambassador, to be released on March 20, 2024, with a reference price of 5,500 JPY (tax included).
The Amazing Barbatos Lupus is a new Gunpla creation by the third-generation Master Kawaguchi, "Tatsuya Yuuki," currently on display in the Gundam Metaverse lobby. This mobile suit is a modification of the protagonist's machine, the Gundam Barbatos Lupus, from 'Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans'. While its overall silhouette appears largely unchanged, many details of its armor have been adjusted, such as the original Tekkadan emblem on its shoulders being redesigned into more three-dimensional shoulder armor. The head design and weapon system are closer to that of the Gundam Barbatos Lupus Rex, featuring not only a bullet-shaped large mace and tail blade but also an original propulsion backpack that can separate into claw weapons equipped on both hands.
The "HG 1/144 Amazing Barbatos Lupus [Metallic Color]" utilizes numerous new parts to recreate its unique appearance and weaponry, and features a metallic molded color to reproduce its striking metallic red throughout the body. Its weapons include a large mace, a tail blade, and its most distinctive original backpack. The backpack's movable wings can recreate its deployed state during propulsion, and its lower half can be mounted on both arms to form a rotating, claw-deploying weapon. The backpack body itself can also be separated, resembling the MA "Hashmal".
