"Fist of the North Star," which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, not only announced the production of a new anime, "Fist of the North Star -FIST OF THE NORTH STAR-," but also launched the unprecedented "Fist of the North Star 40th Anniversary Grand Original Art Exhibition ~Reclaim Love!!~" recently (10/7). Furthermore, the "BE@RBRICK" collectible series from the renowned Japanese toy manufacturer MEDICOM TOY will release a new commemorative item for the exhibition's opening: "Kenshiro (ケンシロウ) 400%"! Scheduled for shipment in May 2024.
"Fist of the North Star," originally written by Buronson and illustrated by Tetsuo Hara, is set in a world devastated by nuclear weapons. The seas have dried up, the land has cracked, and a strong apocalyptic atmosphere prevails. The surviving humans, in their struggle for resources, adhere to the law of the jungle, where might makes right, and brutal acts of burning, killing, and looting are constant.
The protagonist, Kenshiro, uses the "Hokuto Shinken" (Fist of the North Star), a martial art passed down from master to disciple, specializing in attacking the body's pressure points. It is an ultimate martial art focused on internal destruction! Kenshiro, having mastered Hokuto Shinken, can not only control when his enemies die (seconds later), but also make people reveal the truth, and even heal illnesses... And the thugs declared "You are already dead (お前は、もう死んでいる)" by Kenshiro usually explode and die after exclaiming "What?!" or "Huh?!".
This piece stands approximately 28 cm tall, depicting Kenshiro's likeness on the BE@RBRICK form in the series' consistent design style. The ears are made of transparent parts and feature blue hair. His serious expression looks quite comical on the bear-ified head, but the body details are extensive, including his attire, bandages, armor, muscle lines, and the striking scars on his chest. We believe this Kenshiro BE@RBRICK will present a distinctly different style within a collection of hardcore Fist of the North Star items. Additionally, the ongoing "Fist of the North Star 40th Anniversary Grand Original Art Exhibition ~Reclaim Love!!~" runs until November 19th, so fans of "Fist of the North Star" should definitely make a pilgrimage!
