As the annual grand event "2023 New York Comic Con (NYCC)" officially opened from October 12-15, 2023, American toy brand Super7, under its Toho monster-themed "Toho ULTIMATES!" series, unveiled its latest NYCC exclusive item, the "Heat Ray Godzilla (1989)", now available for pre-order on the SUPER7 official website.
Appearing in the 17th film of the Godzilla series, "Godzilla vs. Biollante," the Godzilla (1989) is the third generation Heisei Godzilla. Its physique is larger than the Showa version, and its appearance is more ferocious and powerful. The radioactive flame from its mouth, emphasized for its immense power, has been transformed into a direct energy beam known as the "Heat Ray." The story is set five years after Godzilla fell into Mount Mihara, where the Self-Defense Forces initiated the "Anti-Nuclear Bacteria" (ANB) project to create a weapon against Godzilla using Godzilla's cells. Dr. Shiragami, who joined the project, combined Godzilla's cells with a plant created from his daughter's cells and rose cells, giving birth to the immortal plant Biollante...
The "Toho ULTIMATES! Heat Ray Godzilla (1989)" measures approximately 23.5 cm in height and 35.5 cm in length. Its articulated body faithfully recreates the ferocious head, intricate skin textures, and powerful thighs, combining powerful sculpting to showcase the overwhelming presence of the King of the Monsters! The white dorsal fins and the heat ray on the interchangeable head are crafted with glow-in-the-dark material and paint application, allowing it to replicate the glowing appearance of its back when the "Heat Ray" is activated, exuding immense power and a strong sense of presence!
