Following the release of the standard edition 'JGSDF Type 07-III Tank NACCHIN' in 2021, Japanese model manufacturer KOTOBUKIYA recently announced the upcoming release of an even more feature-rich enhanced version, the 'JGSDF Type 07-III Tank NACCHIN [EX Ver.]', slated for February 2024.
The JGSDF Type 07-III Tank Nacchin is an original character created by Japanese mechanical designer moi. It is equipped with a 'Highly Advanced Future Prediction AI' successfully developed in 2090 AD, possessing a personality and communication abilities similar to humans. It utilizes Type 07 composite heat-resistant armor and new N-type nickel-hydrogen batteries, with flexible dual arms capable of wielding various armaments. However, its overly human-like nature tends to keep people at a distance; only Captain Natsuki Kukurigi named her personal unit 'Nacchin' (Little Seven) and treats it like a fellow team member. In addition to the standard model, various versions have been developed for specific purposes, with the gray unit being a specialized urban suppression type with enhanced reconnaissance capabilities.
The main body is also commercialized based on a new CAD model personally created by moi. The number of molded colors has been upgraded from 5 in the standard version to 7, with a slight difference in the main body's green color compared to the standard edition. When completed, it stands approximately 10 cm tall, features over 66 points of articulation throughout its body, and incorporates flexible joint mechanisms such as pull-out and slide joints. The head's cockpit hatch can be opened. Accessories include armaments such as a grenade launcher and a short sword, as well as eye parts and water decals printed with various eye designs and body patterns.
This update also adds several newly designed interchangeable parts, including 'Cat Ear-shaped Reconnaissance Equipment' for the head, 'Shoulder Light Shields' to replace the shoulders, a 'Cockpit Seat' that can be placed inside NACCHIN, and a pilot figure of 'Natsuki Kukurigi' in both standing and sitting poses with two interchangeable head sculpts, significantly enhancing overall playability. Furthermore, all the aforementioned accessories, with the exception of the standing Natsuki Kukurigi figure, will be released as an accessory set along with the grenade launcher and short sword, allowing for upgrades to the previously released green and gray versions.
