The popular die-cast toy series 'Soul of Chogokin', released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectors' toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., has announced today, after a year, the confirmed commercialization of "Gurren Lagann" from the anime Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. More detailed product information is expected to be revealed at the annual new product exhibition 'TAMASHII NATION 2023' on November 17, 2023.
Gurren Lagann is a colossal robot formed by the unexpected combination of "Lagann", piloted by protagonist Simon, and "Gurren", piloted by his elder brother Kamina. While its appearance seems to lack any weaponry, it can unleash unimaginable power through Simon and Kamina's Spiral Power. As their fighting spirit and mental growth evolve, Gurren Lagann not only transforms the sunglasses on its chest into blades and boomerangs, but also extends numerous drills from various parts of its body. Its right arm can even generate an illogically oversized drill, surpassing the main body in size, to unleash the exaggerated and passionate special move, Giga Drill Break. It is truly a dream machine that embodies the essence of Japanese robot romance.
Concurrently, the in-development prototype of "Soul of Chogokin Gurren Lagann" is on display starting today at the official flagship store "TAMASHII NATIONS STORE TOKYO" in Akihabara, Japan. The exhibited parts appear similar to last year's Tamashii Exhibition, with the overall design faithfully adhering to the refined settings of the anime. It can reproduce the separation and combination mechanisms of both "Gurren" and "Lagann" units. Accessories include a large drill capable of recreating the super passionate special move "Giga Drill Break". However, the rotating mechanism of the large drill has been revealed for the first time, allowing the drill to rotate in conjunction by turning the gears on the display base! (For demonstration purposes, the on-site mechanism has been converted to electric rotation).
