Japanese high-end figure manufacturer CCP has announced its latest collaboration project with renowned Japanese sculptor Yoshi., the 'CCP×Yoshi. Project'. The first release, the 'EVA Unit-01' resin cast statue, has finally been unveiled! With a reference price of 34,980 JPY, pre-orders are now open on the CCP ONLINE SHOP, with an estimated release in mid-December 2023.
Reinterpreted with the unique and grotesque style of genius sculptor Yoshi., the 'CCP×Yoshi. Project' first wave features the iconic character from 'Neon Genesis Evangelion' - the high-quality PS hard plastic model of EVA Unit-01. Standing approximately 23 cm tall, it reappears in a new model form, based on a GK (Garage Kit) prototype previously designed by Yoshi.! The overall sculpt and color scheme adopt the settings from 'Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition', while maintaining Unit-01's silhouette, it injects Yoshi.'s alien-like biological feel. Special designs such as the texture of the neck, the claw-like shapes of the hands and feet, and details reminiscent of muscle fibers throughout the body, give the sculpt even greater tension!
Under the supervision of Yoshi.-sensei and Grand Works (グランドワークス), the paintwork presents an eerie, profound, and cool aesthetic. The gradient painting with multiple overlapping colors makes the fluorescent hues stand out even more against the dark body tones, appearing as if glowing.
In addition to the open-mouthed 'Berserk Head', a closed-mouthed 'Normal Head' is also included, allowing for the enjoyment of swapping between the two head types!
