Danish LEGO toy company yesterday (25th) announced the upcoming latest Gift With Purchase (GWP) set, set number 40595, "Tribute to Galileo Galilei"!
This set contains a total of 307 pieces. After assembly, you will get a scene approximately 19 cm long, and the renowned father of modern science, "Galileo," is also minifigure-ized! This laboratory-like scene contains many intricate details, including a picture of the Leaning Tower of Pisa on the wall, a telescope, a long table, a very beautiful bookshelf, a Rotating Heliocentric Model, a map, and more. What's amazing is that the heliocentric model can actually be rotated via a mechanism at the bottom of the wall. The window sill structure is also very beautifully designed, and with a few leaves for embellishment, it feels even more authentic! The "Galileo Galilei" on the front of the base gives this model an even stronger thematic feel.
This "Tribute to Galileo Galilei" also reminds the editor of earlier LEGO releases such as "40530 Tribute to Jane Goodall" and "40579 Eiffel's Apartment." All of these are GWP sets commemorating outstanding historical figures who made significant contributions in various fields, and collecting these sets one by one is truly meaningful. Additionally, the original design for this set comes from LEGO fan Firecracker_'s creation. The official product retains a large portion of the original design, but moving the rotation mechanism to the back is a fantastic modification.
