BANDAI SPIRITS Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS has announced today that the latest product, "Gundam Deathscythe Hell EW," from Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz, will be released in May 2024 as part of the new 6-inch action figure series 'GUNDAM UNIVERSE,' designed for Mobile Suit Gundam fans worldwide.
Appearing in the OVA Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz, the XXXG-01D2 Gundam Deathscythe Hell (EW version) is a mobile suit redesigned by mechanical designer KATOKI HAJIME based on its TV version appearance. Although it is the same mobile suit, the EW version features numerous changes in both its appearance and weaponry. In the story, this unit is a secretly improved and enhanced model, developed by the Gundam developers after salvaging the heavily damaged Deathscythe Gundam. In addition to enhancing its spatial maneuverability for space combat, it also features a special "Active Cloak" armor on its back, resembling bat wings, to strengthen its defense and stealth capabilities. Like before, it can evade radar tracking using its high-performance jammer and launch attacks with its "Beam Scythe."
The "GUNDAM UNIVERSE Gundam Deathscythe Hell EW" is produced as an approximately 15 cm tall action figure, reinterpreting the mobile suit's detailed design in the GUNDAM UNIVERSE series style. Compared to the original design, it features a more robust armor aesthetic and a larger head proportion. However, the characteristic "Active Cloak" on its back is scaled down and does not possess the articulation mechanism to envelop the body. Its weaponry includes the Beam Scythe, with the beam blade part rendered in metallic green paint.
