The popular action figure series "S.H.Figuarts", released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, recently announced the commercialization of its latest work, "Tanjiro Kamado", from the popular manga "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba". The latest prototype was exhibited today at the "Jump Festa 2024" event.
The protagonist, Tanjiro Kamado, is a kind-hearted, lively, and earnest 13-year-old boy with a strong sense of justice, an exceptionally keen sense of smell, and an unusually hard forehead. He possesses red hair and red eyes, unlike his younger siblings, and is regarded as an auspicious "Child of the Sunstone". He shoulders the responsibility as the eldest son, selling charcoal to support his family in place of his deceased father, living a somewhat impoverished but happy life. However, one day upon returning home, he discovers his family massacred by demons, and his only surviving sister, Nezuko, has transformed into a man-eating demon. Yet, Tanjiro is not broken by the cruelty of the world; to restore his sister to humanity and avenge his family, the boy raises his demon-slaying blade....
The "S.H.Figuarts Tanjiro Kamado" faithfully recreates his appearance and proportions from the anime, utilizing rich color applications to produce details such as his forehead scar, earring patterns, and the black-and-green checkered pattern of his haori. Both the haori and the Demon Slayer Corps uniform feature multi-segment designs, incorporating numerous articulated joint parts, allowing for poses such as jumping, seiza (kneeling), and sword-swinging. It also comes with his Nichirin Blade, multiple interchangeable face parts, and various hand gestures. Detailed product information will be announced at a later date.
