BANDAI CANDY, the candy toy division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., has announced today that its new Mobile Suit Gundam-themed candy toy series, 'MOBILITY JOINT GUNDAM', will release its latest product, "MOBILITY JOINT GUNDAM SP", in April 2024.
'MOBILITY JOINT GUNDAM' continues the design concept of another Gundam candy toy series, 'G-FRAME', creating popular Mobile Suits from the 'Mobile Suit Gundam' series in an approximately 3-head-tall proportion. It adopts a common 'MOBILITY JOINT' articulated frame structure, with approximately 20 points of articulation throughout the body. The exterior armor also features a high density of detail different from the original settings. Once all parts and stickers are assembled, you will have a Mobile Suit approximately 70mm tall!
This release of "MOBILITY JOINT GUNDAM SP" is themed around the Mobile Suits piloted by the two main characters, Amuro and Char, during the One Year War in 'Mobile Suit Gundam'. It revamps parts of the design and coloring of previously released Gundam, ν Gundam, and Sazabi, and additionally features the debut of the 'Char's Custom Zaku II' joining the battle.
Gundam (SP)
This is a modified version of the RX-78-2 Gundam from the first release. Its overall coloring has been adjusted according to the anime's color scheme, and the waist and shield adopt the new design from the sixth release's G-3 Gundam. It comes with a beam rifle.
Gundam (SP) EX Parts
Includes accessories such as two Hyper Bazookas, a Beam Javelin, a Beam Saber, and a pair of open hands. These can be combined with the Gundam main unit for equipment changes, recreating its final battle specifications.
Char's Custom Zaku II
Recreates the characteristic head antenna of a commander unit, along with Char's signature all-red coloring. It comes with a Zaku Bazooka.
Char's Custom Zaku II EX Parts
Includes armaments such as a Zaku Machine Gun, Heat Hawk, Long Rifle, and Missile Pods. It also comes with a set of replacement parts including a backpack, leg thrusters, and a head antenna, allowing it to be re-equipped as a High Mobility Type Zaku.
ν Gundam (SP)
This is a modified version of the ν Gundam from the second release. Compared to its previous gray tone, the coloring has been changed to the off-white tone seen in the series. It comes armed with a beam rifle and shield.
ν Gundam (SP) EX Parts
Includes a beam rifle, shield, and numerous additional armor parts, allowing the ν Gundam to be re-equipped into its HWS Heavy Weapon System form.
Sazabi (SP)
This is a modified version of the Sazabi from the second release. Compared to its previous dark red tone, the coloring has been changed to a vibrant red closer to what is seen in the series, and fuselage markings have been added to both shoulders. It comes with a beam shotgun.
Sazabi (SP) & ν Gundam (SP) EX Parts
Includes the Long Range Beam Rifle, Beam Tomahawk, Beam Saber, and Shield used by Sazabi, as well as the Fin Funnels (stored state), Hyper Bazooka, and Beam Saber used by ν Gundam.
