The popular action figure series "S.H.Figuarts", released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., recently showcased a prototype of its latest product, "Malenia," from the popular video game "Elden Ring." The release date is yet to be determined.
Malenia, Blade of Miquella, is one of the demigods born to Radagon and Marika. From the moment of her birth, she was afflicted by the curse of the Scarlet Rot, her body corroding. All her limbs, except for her intact left hand, were replaced with golden prosthetics. With the "prosthetic blade" on her right arm, she can unleash powerful, elegant, and fierce sword arts such as Waterfowl Dance. Her brother, Miquella, once crafted a Pure Gold Needle for her to suppress the Scarlet Rot within her body. However, during the Shattering War, when she battled General Radahn and was at a disadvantage, Malenia unleashed the power of the Scarlet Rot without hesitation. The curse, which corroded the land, instantly spread across the entirety of Caelid. The unconscious Malenia continued to contaminate the Haligtree, and after an intense battle with the player, she fully transformed into the "Goddess of Rot."
The currently displayed prototype of "S.H.Figuarts Malenia" reveals that her full body armor faithfully reproduces intricate carvings, seams, and a brilliant metallic sheen. The prosthetic blade boasts an impressive length and ornate blade patterns. Her distinctive red cape is composed of plastic parts around the neck and flowing fabric parts at the back. It recreates the varying shades and embroidered patterns on the fabric, and features an internal metal wire for adjustable posing and support.
