To celebrate the popular anime "Sgt. Frog" (Keroro Gunso) reaching its 20th anniversary in 2024, the Keroro Platoon has invaded the highly acclaimed "Waiting (Machibouke)" series from Bandai's GASHAPON capsule toy brand! Introducing the 'Sergeant Keroro is Waiting!' capsule toys, with a reference price of 300 Japanese Yen per turn, featuring five different styles, scheduled to launch in April 2024~
Created by Japanese manga artist Mine Yoshizaki, the comedic work "Sgt. Frog" (ケロロ軍曹) tells the story of the Space Invasion Army's Special Advance Force from Planet 58 of the Gamma Nebula, aka frog-type aliens, who come to Earth (Pekopon, ケロン星) to conquer it. However, after being captured by the protagonists Fuyuki and Natsumi, they are forced to live with the Hinata family. Subsequently, Sergeant Keroro's subordinates: Private Tamama, Corporal Giroro, Sergeant Major Kururu, and Lance Corporal Dororo, also make their appearances... continuing to devise various plans to invade Earth!
The 'Sergeant Keroro is Waiting!' capsule toys, at a height of approximately 4 cm, meticulously capture the distinctive features of the five members of the Keroro Platoon: KERORO, TAMAMA, GIRORO, KURURU, and DORORO. Reinterpreted in the series' consistent classic style, they are depicted in poses of patient waiting, either huddled with arms crossed over their knees or sitting cross-legged with arms folded. Their facial expressions also showcase their distinct personalities—blank stares, helplessness, crying faces... truly nostalgic and adorable!
