American toy manufacturer NECA today (21st) announced its latest product from the 1987 film "RoboCop": the "Alex Murphy 7-inch Action Figure & Signed Card" set! This item will be a NECA STORE exclusive and will be available for pre-order on November 27, 2023, at 12 P.M. (ET).
In the story of "RoboCop," police officer "Murphy," who had just been transferred to "Hell" (crime-ridden Detroit), immediately went deep into a criminal stronghold with his senior partner Anne Lewis. Although they initially managed to subdue the criminals, Murphy was ultimately outnumbered and tragically shot to death in a horrific barrage of gunfire. After Murphy's death, his remains were transformed by the mega-corporation OCP into the cyborg police officer RoboCop. Due to lingering fragments of his memories as Murphy, he would perform his signature move of twirling his gun before holstering it into the compartment on his right thigh.
This time, NECA has chosen the relatively rare depiction of Murphy in his police uniform as the subject, and it even includes interchangeable parts that allow you to seemingly feel Murphy's agony before death. These include a blood-splattered, screaming head sculpt, a shot-off right arm replacement part, a blood-splatter effect that can be attached to the right arm, and a replacement upper torso part riddled with bullet wounds and gruesome flesh. It's truly horrific! Of course, it also comes with a standard helmeted head sculpt, a pistol, multiple interchangeable hands, and other accessories, allowing you to pose Murphy as he was, intact, during his time as a human police officer. But still, it's too tragic and terrifying!
▼ Another major highlight of this set is the inclusion of a police badge-shaped collector's card personally signed by Murphy's actor, Peter Weller. Super cool!
