From Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS, the 'ROBOT SPIRITS ver. A.N.I.M.E.' series of articulated finished robot figures has announced its latest product from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED", the "GAT-X103 Buster Gundam", scheduled for release in July 2024.
The GAT-X103 Buster Gundam is one of five prototype mobile suits from the first-generation GAT-X series secretly developed by the Atlantic Federation. This machine was conceived as a long-range artillery support unit, utilizing the X100 series frame which faithfully reproduces human body movements. It is equipped with two distinct shooting weapons via its waist auxiliary arms: a "350mm Electromagnetic Cannon" and a "94mm High-Energy Convergent Beam Rifle", as well as a 6-tube Missile Pod for close-range defense. Furthermore, the two shooting weapons can be connected front-to-back; when the cannon is in front, it can fire an "Anti-Armor Shotgun", and when the rifle is in front, it functions as an "Ultra-High Impulse Long-Range Sniper Rifle".
The overall design of the "ROBOT SPIRITS Buster Gundam ver. A.N.I.M.E." is based on the anime's design drafts, featuring a refined and cool armor design and articulation at an approximate height of 12.5 cm. It faithfully reproduces the machine's cream, dark green, and orange-red armor colors, as well as the two large cannons, the "350mm Electromagnetic Cannon" and "94mm High-Energy Convergent Beam Rifle", mounted on its back. The orange-red missile pod covers on both shoulders feature an unfolding mechanism, allowing them to be combined with missile launch effects to recreate firing states.
The two cannons are supported by auxiliary arms on both sides of the waist, as per the original design, allowing for shooting poses where they are simultaneously turned forward. Additionally, the two cannons can recreate the combined "Anti-Armor Shotgun" and "Ultra-High Impulse Long-Range Sniper Rifle" modes. Shotgun effects and beam effects can be attached to the muzzles to recreate powerful two-handed shooting scenes!
