Hong Kong model manufacturer FLAME TOYS' robot-themed die-cast action figure series, "Kuro Kara Kuri," has officially announced its latest product from the movie "Pacific Rim," "Gipsy Danger," slated for release in October 2024.
The protagonist Jaeger, Gipsy Danger, which appeared in the movie "Pacific Rim," is an American-made third-generation, dual-pilot Jaeger. This machine stands 79 meters tall and weighs 1980 tons. Its bipedal, slender-limbed humanoid design is well-balanced, featuring moderate armor protection, a stable yet agile lower body, and is equipped with armaments such as the "Plasma Caster" and "Chain Swords." Its flexible maneuverability allows it to combat Kaiju in close quarters. Compared to other newer Jaegers that utilize digitized electronic systems, Gipsy Danger still employs an analog nuclear-powered turbine engine for propulsion, which also grants it immunity from electromagnetic pulses emitted by Kaiju.
The "Kuro Kara Kuri Gipsy Danger" is crafted as an approximately 21 cm tall action figure, featuring sharp armor lines, high-density details, and armor separation designs that deviate from the original. It not only utilizes a die-cast movable frame that combines strength and weight but also employs extensive metallic paintwork and electroplating to showcase differences in frame materials, the heavy texture of the armor, and the distinctive nuclear-powered turbine engine on its chest. Furthermore, the head and chest incorporate built-in LED light-up mechanisms, which, when illuminated, evoke the powerful night battle scenes from the film.
Regarding articulation, all joints throughout the body offer a flexible range of motion, and each finger on the hands is independently posable. The "Plasma Caster" and "Chain Swords" armaments, mounted on both arms, can be recreated in their deployed states through interchangeable parts. Additionally, the Kuro Kara Kuri version features original armaments for Gipsy Danger, crafted from the weapons of four other Jaegers. These include Crimson Typhoon's "High-Speed Circular Saw Arms," Cherno Alpha's "Wrench-Style Hands," Coyote Tango's "Back-Mounted Twin Cannons," and Striker Eureka's "Chest Missile Launcher," which is offered as a bonus part for purchases made through official designated channels.
