World-renowned Hong Kong toy manufacturer Hot Toys today (23rd) announced its latest product from "Iron Man 2": the "Iron Man Mark VI" 1/4 scale collectible figure! Expected to ship in Q4 2024 – Q1 2025.
In "Iron Man 2," Tony Stark escaped the predicament of "palladium poisoning" by synthesizing a new element using his self-made particle accelerator, which served as a new energy source to replace palladium. He also created a brand-new inverted triangular arc reactor. After learning that "Ivan Vanko" would attack the Stark Expo, he assembled the latest Mark VI armor for battle. This time, Hot Toys has chosen to bring this armor to life again in a large 1/4 scale, standing approximately 48.5 cm tall, with 40 points of articulation throughout the body. It faithfully reproduces the striking red and gold main color scheme with silver accents on the joints and various parts. The powerful lines combined with the overall metallic heft make it incredibly cool!
The head sculpt masterfully captures the facial contours of actor "Robert Downey Jr." from the 2010 film, with slightly messy short hair rendered as sculpted hair. The movable eyes add further expressiveness to the face. LED light-up functions are integrated into the eyes, arc reactor on the chest, and palms of both hands (emitting white and blue light), as well as on the sides of the chest, ribs, forearms, back of the legs, upper back, and other areas. The most exciting feature is the inclusion of multiple battle-damaged replacement parts, along with a display base that evokes a combat atmosphere, complete with drone debris, making the pose even more dynamic!
The suit also features multiple areas where the outer armor can be detached to reveal the internal mechanisms, including a removable chest plate, articulated rib armor, and openable back air flaps and leg armor. Weapon accessories include hidden shoulder missiles, a micro-missile launch system located on the forearms, red laser effects, and missiles concealed within the waist discs. Whether for close-quarters combat or long-range attacks, it is invincible!
