Released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, the "S.H.Figuarts (Shinkocchou Seihou)" series, which sculpts from the skeletal structure to give tokusatsu heroes their original cool appearance and natural articulation, has announced the latest product from "Ultraman Gaia", "Ultraman Gaia V2", scheduled for release in June 2024.
Ultraman Gaia is a giant of light, an embodiment of Earth, representing the power from the land. During an experiment to delve into the quantum acceleration field, 20-year-old genius quantum physics doctor Gamu Takayama witnessed Gaia's form. Subsequently, when the alien threat "Radical Destruction Bringer" invaded Earth, the Earth bestowed upon Gamu the power to transform into Gaia. Unlike other Ultramen from outer space, Gaia is an Ultraman born entirely from Earth and does not have a transformation time limit.
The "S.H.Figuarts (Shinkocchou Seihou) Ultraman Gaia V2" not only features sculpting supervision by Tsuburaya Productions' LSS modeling department, but also invited Jyo Narita, who created the suit's head back then, to recreate the model's head sculpt, bringing to life the V2 form, which was strengthened after gaining the power of Ultraman Agul. Its body was crafted using a body model of Shunsuke Gondo, the action actor who played Gaia at the time, faithfully recreating the suit worn by the actor in the show.
The upper body, including the chest and shoulders, is made with soft parts to expand the range of motion. Furthermore, the neck, hip joints, and limbs all feature flexible articulation designs. The interchangeable hand parts were also created by scanning Shunsuke Gondo's hands, allowing for faithful recreation of various poses from the show. Accessories include a replaceable chest life gauge lamp that emits red light, and effect parts to recreate the deadly beam technique "Quantum Stream"!
