Following the Vulcan Science Officer," Japanese toy company Kotobukiya, in collaboration with renowned illustrator Shunya Yamashita (山下しゅんや) for their "BISHOUJO" figure brand, has once again announced the second installment of their "STAR TREK Bishoujo" series, themed after "Star Trek": the "Chief Communications Officer Uhura" 1/7 scale figure. It has a suggested retail price of 17,600 JPY and is scheduled for release in June 2024!

The sci-fi classic "Star Trek" series, with a history of approximately 60 years (the film version is also translated as Star Trek), was created by Gene Roddenberry in the 1960s. Set in a utopian 23rd century, the story follows the crew of the USS Enterprise as they explore new, unknown worlds. The USS Enterprise's Chief Communications Officer, Uhura, portrayed by Nichelle Nichols, was the first Black woman to play a professional role on American television.

The "STAR TREK Bishoujo Chief Communications Officer Uhura" 1/7 scale figure stands approximately 23 cm tall. Based on Shunya Yamashita's illustration, Uhura is reinterpreted in a Bishoujo style! She retains her voluminous, sleek black hair styled high in a 60s fashion and period-appropriate makeup. Dressed in her red communications officer uniform, details such as her communication earpiece, chest insignia, and gold trim on her cuffs are meticulously sculpted and finished with metallic paint. Her dreamy gaze and expression are quite captivating!

An interchangeable hand holding a phaser is included, allowing for different atmospheric poses. The base is designed with the transporter room of the USS Enterprise, as seen in the films, as its theme. On the transporter pad are two space creatures called Tribbles, reminiscent of the classic scene from Episode 44!
