The anime version of "One Piece" is set to enter the Egghead Arc on January 7, 2024, Japan time. BANPRESTO, a prize figure brand under Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS company, which releases the "World Collectable Figure (WCF)" series that transforms Japanese anime characters into chibi-style figures, has also swiftly immortalized the Straw Hat Pirates' latest designs, announcing that the latest product, "One Piece Egghead Arc 1," is scheduled for release in May 2024.
The theme of this product, "Egghead Island," is the new arc that immediately follows the Wano Country Arc in "One Piece." The Straw Hat Pirates' story takes them to "Egghead," an island governed by the World Government in the latter half of the Grand Line, the "New World," commonly referred to as Future Island. On the island resides the genius scientist "Dr. Vegapunk," who possesses the world's largest brain and leads a research institute that has developed new technologies centuries ahead of their time. Not only has he provided numerous new technologies to the Navy, but he has also completely transformed the island's landscape. Through climate-controlling island air conditioning, the originally cold Egghead has become as warm as a tropical island. The architecture and people's attire on the island also appear surreal, reminiscent of last century's science fiction works.
The first wave of "WCF One Piece Egghead Arc" will feature five characters, including Luffy, Sanji, and Nami. Although the product images have not been fully revealed yet, the overall designs can be anticipated from their silhouettes, reproducing their highly avant-garde, futuristic sci-fi outfits in adorable chibi proportions!
