Bandai Namco Toys & Hobby's GASHAPON brand, known for its "Mobile Suit Gundam" themed gashapon series "CAPSULE ACTION," recently announced the upcoming release of its latest product, the "G-3 Gundam," slated for May 2024.
The RX-78-3 G-3 Gundam, in the novel version of "Mobile Suit Gundam," is the third unit in the RX-78 Gundam series. After a fierce battle with Elmeth, protagonist Amuro Ray's RX-78-2 Gundam Unit 2 was half-destroyed. He subsequently transferred to the G-3 Gundam and participated in the Battle of A Baoa Qu until his death. Its appearance is fundamentally the same as Unit 2, but the mobile suit's color scheme features a gray-white coating. Furthermore, the frame's drive sections are treated with a special magnetic coating, which reduces friction between parts and enhances movement speed.
The "CAPSULE ACTION G-3 Gundam" is a modification of the previously released RX-78-2 Gundam, reproducing its characteristic gray-white color scheme with new molding colors and paintwork. Standing approximately 9 cm tall, its body features as many as 38 articulation points, including flexible joints in the neck, waist, skirt armor, and limbs, allowing for various battle poses with the included beam rifle and shield.
Continuing the series' distinctive features, this G-3 Gundam also comes in two specifications: a standard color version and a clear armor version. The clear armor version, unlike the previously released RX-78-2 Gundam, utilizes a new clear white molding color.
