Developed by Japanese model manufacturer Kotobukiya, the highly customizable model kit series 'HEXA GEAR' has announced its latest product, the 'Rayblade Impulse [Reloaded] Collector's Edition,' slated for release in June 2024. This product will be sold exclusively through Kotobukiya's official designated channels.
The Rayblade Impulse [Reloaded] is the successor unit to the 'Rayblade Impulse,' the first product in the 'HEXA GEAR' series. In addition to the standard hexagonal connection parts, the entire unit features a completely new design and new molds. Compared to the 2017 Rayblade Impulse, not only has the internal parts structure been thoroughly revamped, and its customization and modification capabilities significantly enhanced, but its styling and articulation are also more natural, like a feline animal. The overall size and proportions have also been enlarged, especially the 'Rayblade' effect parts that deploy from the sides of the unit, which boast a more dynamic and impactful design.
The approximately 26 cm long body features a precise internal frame structure, reproducing details such as gun barrels, tires, and the cockpit. The overall articulation design significantly enhances the range of motion for the limbs, head, and neck, allowing for natural running, jumping, and attacking poses reminiscent of a real beast. The transformation mechanism into vehicle mode is also intact, not only capable of reproducing a multi-wheeled tank equipped with heavy armaments but also transformable into a heavy motorcycle with BONUS parts. The cockpit's control sticks, seats, and foot pedals come in both single and double specifications, accommodating multiple Governor figures (sold separately). The accessories also include 3mm and 5mm common standard adapter parts compatible with Kotobukiya's original model kit series, allowing for customization not only with 'HEXA GEAR' but also with M.S.G, Frame Arms Girl, Megami Device, and other products!
Unlike the regular edition, the entire unit's molded colors have been changed to deeper olive green, dark gray, and reddish-brown parts, creating a more realistic military aesthetic. The chain guns and grenade launchers mounted on both sides of the head also include an additional set of newly designed reverse parts compared to the regular edition, allowing for a symmetrical left-right configuration. Furthermore, the signature 'Rayblade' effect parts have increased from 2 to 4, with cool electrical effect printing and glitter added to each part, enabling the reproduction of a powerful stance with all four 'Rayblades' fully deployed on both sides!
