The popular anime Macross 7, which aired in 1994, similarly inherited the series' traditions, retaining elements such as "songs," "love triangles," and "variable fighters." However, its presentation style was vastly different, evolving from a focus on a single singer to the passionate rock band "Fire Bomber." Lead vocalist Basara Nekki's singing was provided by Yoshiki Fukuyama, a current member of JAM Project, and bassist Mylene Flare Jenius's singing was provided by Chie Kajiura. With their high-pitched, slightly husky, yet bright voices, they passionately performed popular songs like "Try Again," "Seventh Moon," and more. The Valkyrie fighters piloted by the main characters in the show were essentially unarmed, instead being modified into units equipped with sound systems for a vocal energy system.

This time, in addition to showcasing the previously exhibited "VF-19 Kai Fire Valkyrie" in both FIGHTER and BATTROID forms, its appearance equipped with the "SOUND BOOSTER" component was also revealed for the first time. The "VF-11MAXL Mylene Valkyrie" and "VF-17T Kai Nightmare Valkyrie" are being exhibited for the first time.
