TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectors division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., which issues the "S.H.MonsterArts" series combining exquisite monster sculpting with excellent articulation technology, today announced the second product from "Yu-Gi-Oh!", "Red-Eyes Black Dragon", following the first release, Blue-Eyes White Dragon. It is scheduled for release in June 2024.
The Dark Attribute, Level 7 Dragon-Type monster card, "Red-Eyes Black Dragon", as its name suggests, is a black dragon with a pair of red eyes, capable of spewing furious "Black Flame Bullets" to incinerate enemies in its path. It is most famously known as Joey Wheeler's (Katsuya Jonouchi's) ace monster card in the anime "Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters." While its 2400 ATK may not seem outstanding, it can fuse into various "Red-Eyes" monsters, and when paired with a "Red-Eyes" themed deck, it can expand into flexible strategies. Examples include the Spell Card "Inferno Fire Blast" (黑炎彈) which allows Red-Eyes Black Dragon to inflict direct damage to the opponent's Life Points, "Red-Eyes Alternative Black Dragon" (真紅眼亞黑龍) which can be Special Summoned after being destroyed, doubling Red-Eyes Black Dragon's ATK, and "Red-Eyes Spirit" (真紅眼靈魂) which can Special Summon a Red-Eyes monster from the Graveyard, among others.
The "S.H.MonsterArts Red-Eyes Black Dragon" thoroughly reproduces its sharp black body based on the original design, meticulously detailing the multi-segmented neck and tail, crimson eyes, and the tongue and teeth within its mouth, making it incredibly fierce and cool. Its entire body features a flexible articulation design achieved through precise part segmentation. The wide range of motion allows for poses such as spreading its wings for flight, roaring with its head tilted forward, or defending itself by wrapping its body with its wings, and it even includes "Black Flame Bullet" effect parts to recreate its signature attack!
