The robot model kit series "HG (High Grade)", launched by the HOBBY Division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., officially announced today the first product from the anime "Combat Mecha Xabungle", the "HG 1/144 Xabungle", slated for release in March 2024.
The Xabungle, piloted by the protagonist Jiron in the series, is a colossal robot capable of transforming and combining its upper and lower mechanical halves. It possesses excellent flexibility and mobility, akin to a human body, and its performance surpasses other types of walking mecha. In addition to executing various martial arts techniques, it is equipped with a rich arsenal including a 90mm rifle, triple external rocket launcher, nine-tube rocket launcher, and a quad-barreled handheld cannon. However, due to its complex transformation mechanism and internal structure, it is prone to malfunctions.
The "HG 1/144 Xabungle" utilizes the latest HG technology to extensively recreate the mecha's form, articulation, and transformation/combination mechanism. The entire model is composed of multiple molded colors including gray, red, blue, yellow, black, and clear parts, reproducing the interior of the head cockpit and two chest shapes. It also includes interchangeable parts for a battle-damaged back wing and arms without tires. Furthermore, the mecha features flexible articulated joints, allowing for various combat poses and natural kneeling stances.
The upper and lower halves of the mecha can not only replicate the transformation and combination sequence from the series, separating into two machines, SKIPPER and ROVER, but also reproduce the trailer form by replacing some parts. The weapon accessories include a 90mm rifle, triple external rocket launcher, nine-tube rocket launcher, and a quad-barreled handheld cannon, which can be equipped on Xabungle's shoulders and arms to recreate dynamic battle scenes!
