The popular action figure series 'S.H.Figuarts', released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, recently showcased the latest prototype of 'Giyu Tomioka' from the popular manga 'Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba' at 'Jump Festa 2024'. The release date is yet to be determined.

A master of Water Breathing and one of the strongest swordsmen in the Demon Slayer Corps, 'Water Hashira' Giyu Tomioka is a cool-headed and composed young man. His parents passed away early, and he lived with his older sister. One day, their home was attacked by a demon, and his sister sacrificed herself to protect him, leaving him deeply traumatized. While training under Sakonji Urokodaki, Giyu Tomioka finally met his close friend, Sabito, to whom he could open his heart. However, Sabito was defeated by the Hand Demon and died on Mount Fujikasane during the Final Selection, causing Giyu Tomioka's heart to become even more closed off and filled with regret. He wears a 'half-and-half haori' with different patterns on each side to commemorate his deceased sister and close friend.

The 'S.H.Figuarts Giyu Tomioka' faithfully recreates his appearance and proportions from the anime, utilizing rich color applications to produce the patterns on his half-and-half haori. Like the Demon Slayer Corps uniform, it features a multi-segmented design with numerous articulated joint parts. However, the segmentation lines on the plain-colored half are relatively noticeable, making the overall sculpt appear somewhat fragmented. Accessories are expected to include his Nichirin Blade, multiple interchangeable face parts, and various interchangeable hand parts.
