The 1/100 scale Gundam plastic model kit "MG (Master Grade)" series, released by the HOBBY Division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd. and known for its excellent part separation, internal frame structure, and rich articulation mechanisms, today announced the latest product from "Mobile Suit Gundam NT," the "MG 1/100 Narrative Gundam C-Packs Ver.Ka," scheduled for release in April 2024.
The protagonist mobile suit of "Mobile Suit Gundam NT," the RX-9 Narrative Gundam, is set as a Psycho-Frame experimental unit of the RX-93 ν Gundam, developed by Anaheim Electronics. Its external appearance and part composition are largely similar to the ν Gundam. As its primary purpose is data acquisition, many areas lack armor, and its only armament is the head-mounted vulcan cannons. During the "Phoenix Hunt" operation, this unit was unearthed by Luio & Co. for reinforcement. It can be equipped with the large high-mobility armament "A-Packs" featuring psycho-capture devices, the "B-Packs" equipped with a wired remote attack system backpack, and the "C-Packs," an exterior armor secretly modified by Luio & Co. consultant Michele Luio using Psycho-Frames collected from Unicorn Gundam series units.
The "MG 1/100 Narrative Gundam C-Packs Ver.Ka" features styling designed by renowned mechanical designer KATOKI HAJIME, blending the design aesthetics of both the RX-93 ν Gundam and the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam. The mobile suit boasts intricate articulation designs, including a hip joint locking mechanism and knee interlocking mechanisms. Its abdomen incorporates a core block system, absent in the HG version, allowing the main wings to deploy and transform into a Core Fighter.
The Narrative Gundam can transform from its bare frame state into the "C-Packs" form, equipped with Psycho-Frame exterior armor. The thickness of each Psycho-Frame part has been precisely adjusted, featuring rich detailing on its front, back, and sides, allowing it to reflect light like crystal depending on the viewing angle. It also includes two interchangeable versions: an unactivated gray and an activated clear pink. Furthermore, this set of Psycho-Frames can be directly applied to the separately sold "MG 1/100 Unicorn Gundam Ver.Ka," replacing its existing frame parts.
The armament includes a beam rifle, beam saber, and shield. The beam rifle is designed as an improved version of the Jegan-spec rifle, allowing the model to reproduce both pre- and post-improvement specifications by swapping parts. Accessories include 3D metallic stickers and waterslide decals for the unit markings. Notably, areas such as the head's twin-eye cameras and sensors are produced using three-dimensional metallic stickers, offering a more three-dimensional feel compared to standard flat stickers, thereby enhancing the model's detailed appearance.
