MECHA SMILE, a brand under Japanese model manufacturer GOOD SMILE COMPANY, has announced the latest product from its 'MODEROID' model kit series: "Great Demon Beast Battle: Gou the Steel Oni", based on the OVA "Great Demon Beast Battle: Gou". It has a suggested retail price of 9,900 JPY and is scheduled for release in July 2024.
The fantasy sci-fi mecha anime "Great Demon Beast Battle: Gou", a brilliant work by director Toshihiro Hirano in 1987, tells the story of protagonist "Gou the Steel Oni" who, to stop the rampaging "Dogi" — a destructive weapon from another dimension, amidst the pull of friendship and bonds, decides to bravely engage in a magnificent fated battle...
The "MODEROID Great Demon Beast Battle: Gou the Steel Oni", making its debut as a model kit, features multi-color molded parts and some pre-painted parts. Once assembled, it stands approximately 175 mm tall and boasts flexible articulated joints. This assembly kit perfectly recreates the Great Demon Beast's incredibly cool organic design, complete with its red carapace and silver claws!
