The renowned Hong Kong toy brand "ACTION TOYS", under its Tokusatsu Alloy product line, will be releasing articulated figures of the two protagonists from the classic late 1970s Japanese Tokusatsu series "Space Ironmen Kyodain" (宇宙鉄人キョーダイン): "Skyzel" (スカイゼル) and "Granzel" (グランゼル). Both are scheduled for release in Q3 2024, with each priced at HKD 560.
"Space Ironmen Kyodain" is a Tokusatsu television series produced by Toei Japan, which began airing in April 1976. Its original creator is the famous Japanese manga artist Shotaro Ishinomori (石ノ森 章太郎). The story primarily revolves around mechanical scholar Dr. Hayama, his eldest son George, and second son Ryuji. While celebrating the birthday of their youngest brother Kenji, they are captured by the Dada Aliens (ダダ星人), who covet Dr. Hayama's knowledge. Subsequently, the Dada Aliens dispatch their robot army (ダダロイド) to invade Earth. One year later, two robots suddenly appear via rocket. These are revealed to be cyborgs into which Dr. Hayama had transplanted the personalities of George and Ryuji, becoming Skyzel and Granzel, respectively. Youngest brother Kenji then embarks on a mission with them to protect Earth.
The red-colored Skyzel (スカイゼル) is imbued with the personality of the elder brother, George. It features flight wings on both sides of its head, allowing it to transform into an airplane, making it adept at aerial combat. Its electronic eyes possess highly developed visual capabilities, even allowing for X-ray vision. The blue-colored Granzel (グランゼル) is imbued with the personality of Ryuji. It can transform into a car, making it a master of ground combat, and possesses highly developed auditory capabilities, able to detect ultrasonic waves imperceptible to the human ear.
These two Tokusatsu Alloy Space Ironmen brothers, Skyzel and Granzel, released by ACTION TOYS, faithfully recreate their appearances from the original work. Standing approximately 18 cm tall, they incorporate partial alloy materials, ensuring excellent playability and quality. Included accessories feature their combined technique, the "Great Punch" (巨大鐵拳), which allows their fists to enlarge, as well as the Blaster X-Gun (ブラスターXガン), the Solar Sword, and the Granzel Saw.
