The latest product, "EVANGELION EVA-01," a collaboration between the "ki-gu-mi" wooden assembly model kit series from Japanese toy developer Azone and the popular anime "Evangelion," is currently available for pre-sale at official stores such as EVANGELION STORE. General retail channels are expected to begin sales in Spring 2024.
The "ki-gu-mi" series is a wooden 3D puzzle that can be easily completed without any tools, utilizing a precise tenon and mortise design. To date, the series has released a rich variety of products including Tyrannosaurus Rex, Tokyo Tower, motorcycles, lucky cats, and more. Its themes span animals, machinery, traditional Japanese artifacts, and famous architecture. In recent years, it has also launched collaborative products with famous IPs such as One Piece, Ghibli, and Star Wars, transforming ships, fighter jets, and buildings from these works into wooden puzzles.
The "ki-gu-mi EVANGELION EVA-01" is composed of 190 intricately designed wooden puzzle pieces. Through the tenon and mortise design of each piece, it can be assembled into an EVA-01 head bust with dimensions of approximately 125×195×135mm. This includes the sharp lines of the antenna and jaw, and the curves of the surrounding armor. For the eye parts, you can choose between two versions: with or without tenons.
