BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division in Japan has announced today the latest product from its highly diverse 1/144 scale Gunpla 'HG (High Grade)' series: the "HG 1/144 High Mobility Zaku (Ground Type) (Sanho's Machine)", based on the animated film 《Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan's Island》, scheduled for release in March 2024.
Appearing in 《Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan's Island》, the MS-06GD High Mobility Zaku (Ground Type) is a land combat mobile suit utilized by the Principality of Zeon's elite "Southern Cross Team". Its design is based on THE ORIGIN version and was re-designed by Kunio Okawara. Its most prominent feature is the addition of several powerful thrusters to its lower body, enabling hover movement similar to a Dom, allowing for high-speed gliding across land. Each High Mobility Zaku (Ground Type) used by the Southern Cross Team is painted in a sand-colored camouflage and carries different armaments according to their individual combat styles.
The "HG 1/144 High Mobility Zaku (Ground Type) (Sanho's Machine)" being released this time is the unit piloted by Yeon Sanho, a member of the "Southern Cross Team" in the film. The kit is a modification of previously released units in the series, featuring excellent color separation and part division design, along with flexible movable joints. It utilizes sand yellow and dark brown molded colors, along with water-slide decals, to recreate its characteristic camouflage scheme, and also includes water-slide decals for the unit's emblem and body markings.
The knee joints are equipped with a pull-out mechanism to expand their range of motion. For armaments, it includes a Zaku Machine Gun, a bayonet, and more, allowing for cool combat poses.
