BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division of Japan today announced the latest product from the animated film "Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan's Island," the "HG 1/144 High Mobility Zaku (Ground Type) (Danang's Machine)," from the highly diverse 1/144 scale Gunpla "HG (High Grade)" series, scheduled for release in March 2024.
Appearing in "Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan's Island," the MS-06GD High Mobility Zaku (Ground Type) is a ground combat mobile suit utilized by the Principality of Zeon's elite "Southern Cross Unit." Its design is based on THE ORIGIN version and was re-designed by Kunio Okawara. Its most significant feature is the addition of several powerful thrusters to its lower body, allowing it to perform hover movement like a Dom, gliding at high speeds across the land. This time, the released "HG 1/144 High Mobility Zaku (Ground Type) (Danang's Machine)" is the mobile suit piloted by Danang Rashika, a member of the "Southern Cross Unit" in the film. The kit is a modification of previously released models in the series, featuring excellent color separation, part division, and flexible movable joints. It utilizes sand yellow and dark brown molded colors along with water-slide decals to recreate its characteristic camouflage pattern, and also includes water-slide decals to reproduce the unit emblem and fuselage markings.
The knee joints are equipped with a pull-out mechanism to expand their range of motion. For armaments, it includes a Zaku Machine Gun, two unactivated Heat Hawks, and two activated Heat Hawks, among others, allowing for cool battle poses.
