DX Chogokin "Macross Plus YF-21 (Guld Goa Bowman's Unit)" Recreates Ultra-High Maneuverability Combat Form with Detachable Limbs!

TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., which produces the transforming alloy toy "DX Chogokin" series, today announced the latest product from "Macross Plus," the "YF-21 (Guld Goa Bowman's Unit)," scheduled for release in June 2024.

The YF-21 Sturmvogel, along with YF-19 Excalibur, was a product of the "AVF (Advanced Variable Fighter)" development project. This unit, developed by General Galaxy, is equipped with ambitious new technologies such as a new powerful engine and shape-shifting composite materials. The most notable among these is the "BDI System," a technology that allows the pilot's brain to directly connect with the aircraft, controlling various functions via brainwaves, and even receiving projections of all surrounding views without opening their eyes. However, if the pilot's mental state becomes unstable, control may become erratic. Furthermore, due to high manufacturing costs, difficult maintenance, and insufficient reliability of new technologies, the YF-21 lost to the YF-19 developed by Shinsei Industry in the competition for mass-produced main fighter aircraft.

The "DX Chogokin YF-21 (Guld Goa Bowman's Unit)" utilizes entirely new parts to recreate its characteristic dark blue fuselage, cyclops head sculpt, and its three transformation modes: Fighter, Gerwalk, and Battroid. The entire unit is adorned with cool fuselage markings. It also includes "FAST Pack" enhancement equipment parts as accessories, which can also recreate all three forms when equipped.

In Fighter mode, the landing gear hidden within the fuselage can be deployed for standing. Each engine nozzle fin features individual articulation. The cockpit canopy has an opening and closing mechanism, and when opened, it not only reveals a finely detailed cockpit interior but also allows for the placement of a Guld mini-figure. Furthermore, the limbs can be detached and mask parts added to recreate the ultra-high maneuverability combat form. The Gerwalk mode features an original deployment mechanism in the legs, which, combined with the sliding mechanism of the engine block, achieves a silhouette closer to the original design.

The Battroid mode also achieves a cool body proportion through the sliding mechanism of the engine block. Its hands can be swapped with various sculpted hand parts, and it can be equipped with two GUNPODs. Additionally, two sets of "Shield Punch" effect parts are included, which can be attached to the arms.
