Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS company's collector's toy division, TAMASHII NATIONS, recently announced the latest soft vinyl toy product from the classic robot series "Mazinger Z", the "Invincible King Jumbo Machineder Mazinger Z", scheduled for release in July 2024.
"Jumbo Machineder (ジャンボマシンダー)" is a popular giant soft vinyl toy series launched by Japan's POPY toy company (now: BANDAI TOY DIVISION) between 1973 and 1982, which was once a sensation in Japan. The first product in this series was the "Mazinger Z" that is being reissued and improved this time. This world-renowned soft vinyl toy boasts a large size of 60 cm in height, features a different blue color for its limbs compared to the original work, and is equipped with original missile armaments on its shoulders and legs. Later, a large number of original Jumbo Machineder "secret new weapons" were designed for this toy, such as the "Photon Power Flame Gun," "Rapid-Fire 6-Shot Missile," and "Light Speed Destruction Disc," which could be equipped on its arms.
Re-released after many years, the "Invincible King Jumbo Machineder Mazinger Z" utilizes modern technology to faithfully reproduce the 60 cm height, styling, color scheme, material, and sense of weight from 1973, including the "マジンガーZ" lettering on the abdomen and the missiles mounted on the shoulders and legs.
Furthermore, many product features have been improved. For instance, both the head and the Pilder now include built-in magnets, allowing for a more secure connection that is less prone to detachment during assembly. The "Rocket Punches" on both hands in the original version could only be removed manually for play, but the new version has been improved with an added firing mechanism. By pressing the button on the back of the arms, both "Rocket Punches" can be launched! Additionally, the accessories include one of the secret new weapons, the "Rapid-Fire 6-Shot Missile," which, like the original design, features a firing mechanism that allows all 6 missiles to be launched individually by pressing a white button.
