SEGA PRIZE, the prize brand under Japan's SEGA Corporation, which transforms famous ACG characters into napping cats with its "Ohiruneko (Napping Cat)" series, is set to release its latest product, "NieR:Automata Ver1.1a Ohiruneko Mini Figures," starting January 19, 2024. It will feature three designs: 2B, 9S, and A2.
《NieR:Automata》 is an ARPG video game developed by PlatinumGames and published by Square Enix, with Yoko Taro, who previously worked on Drakengard and NieR Replicant / Gestalt, serving as game director. Continuing the worldview of the previous NieR title, players take on the role of android soldiers from the YoRHa unit, heading to an Earth occupied by alien and machine lifeforms. Their mission is to eliminate the machine lifeforms to reclaim Earth for humanity, gradually uncovering the [truth] of the world and the [meaninglessness] of their own existence…
The "NieR:Automata Ver1.1a Ohiruneko Mini Figures" continue the series' characteristic by crafting the three protagonists—2B, 9S, and A2—into a two-head-tall proportion. They are adorned with adorable cat ears and tails. While retaining their original android facial features, hairstyles, and outfits, they are posed as if napping like cats. With added cat mouths and blushes, they present an incredibly cute image, distinct from their original appearances!
